Strengthen & Pain-Proof Your Back: The McGill Method | Dr. Andrew Huberman
This is a practical guide that complements the solo episode of the Huberman Lab podcast on strengthening and pain-proofing your back. It demonstrates the McGill's Big 3 exercises, developed by Dr. Stuart McGill, a psoas stretch, and a cobra-like pushup to alleviate back pain and strengthen the back effectively. Variations of these exercises are shown to accommodate different fitness levels and anatomical considerations. Additionally, further resources are discussed for those seeking to understand the science behind these exercises and improve their back health.

Your ‘key’ point that you glossed over was that if you gave praise and you were ‘genuine’ The problem is that we tell kids they’re great when they are clearly not! There is nothing wrong with not being the ‘best’ or even losing at a competition But giving a trophy for losing so as to not hurt a child’s feelings as opposed to making them resilient IS THE PROBLEM!

Admittedly, I skipped around this video. However, there was a lot of good stuff I heard here. I’ve been using/distributing/advocating cannabis ~15 years. I currently receive my med by a predominantly Indica grower. Over the years, Sativas had growing problems with my brain chemistry; I have ADD and GAD. Way too much paranoia and anxiety. Side Bar: sometimes anxiety associated with marijuana can be an enlightenment, tho. Another thing people take for granted is finding a nice 15% (sometimes as low as 10%) THC strain; there’s bad stigma around wanting “less potent” weed. If your weed is fucking with you (and you have the resources), tone down and switch strains. Ask for something with a little less THC and a little more CBD.

"Thanks Coach." :) My oreo cookie is all jacked up in the L5 position so much so that I could barely bend 20 degrees forward. I incorporated the reverse pushup method for pain releif and then started incorporated the big 3 into my daily regimen. At this rate, I may be able to touch my toes again in a few months. Good stuff.

This is why I don’t like watching videos like this, because I worked in San Francisco hospital for over 27 years, and in all those years I have seen hundreds of people die from cigarette cancer, but never did I see a person in the hospital dying from any type of marijuana complications🤔 they gave marijuana to people who had aids and cancer, because it helped them in many ways, but you got this fool up here telling people he doesn’t know which one is more poisonous ☠️

I've been consuming cannabis for more than 40 years and never had a problem with stopping or going without as required. I use less each time than I used to and keep it to the end of the day, rather than waking and baking as I did when I was depressed. Some people enjoy a healthy relationship with whatever substance they prefer and some people can't. For those who can't, or who have health reasons why they shouldn't enjoy cannabis that's fine. For those who do enjoy it, that is also fine. The full effects of cannabis on the brain and body is not known, but what is known is that since cannabis left our food chain in the late 1930s, more people get ill with chronic diseases than every before. It IS known that cannabis can be a very successful medicine too. Enjoy if you want to and can, don't if you don't want to or can't. Tadaaaaa!

When I started I was way underage, didn't feel anything. Tried many times. Eventually it worked and I actually 'got high'. The years passed with a lot of dope. Eventually I got anxious and paranoid from it. Now I've quit. Only veryy rarely do I do cannabis yoga. Something about embodiment and mind-to-muscle connection?

I wonder at what point the thing you hate becomes the thing you kinda like? Because if I were to grow that part of the brain(the anterior midcingulate cortex), I'd need to switch constantly I assume? For instance I hate morning exercises, but I know I'm going to feel good after the workout, therefore I'm not stressing about it hard, however I still kinda not enjoying the thought of it every morning. Feeling that drag at first. Really makes me think.

As a child who was labeled "gifted," I was constantly told how smart I was. I barely worked at school but being "smart" came easily to me. Fast forward to my junior year of college, and I finally had to work to do well and I floundered. Not only did I not have the work ethic to pull off better grades, but I suffered mentally as I realized all my value had been placed into some innate intelligence that actually didn't mean anything in real life. I suffered all my 20s until I slowly trained myself to work and learn. I wish my intelligence had not been praised because I firmly believe I was a less successful adult as a result.

On time I took big hit of Sativa in a big city. Walking home should have take me about 30 minutes. Instead, I was walking home 4hrs while at first part of that trip, I was scared and was so caucious, then 2/1 of the remaining time I was eating, buying beer and water and sweets in the supermarkets, laying down on the bench in the public park, and then getting back home. When I micro doze sativa or indica, it helps me during different time during my a day. If I smoke one time a lot - it is unpredictable. I usually micro doze. When I want to relax I smoke alone at home, have some food and make myself comfortable. Happy days everyone! 🙏🍀
